I believe the subject line says it all. RESPONSES WOULD BE NICE. If someone gets up the courage to send me a smile or a message that they liked my profile, I will be courteous enough to read their profile and respond. It is not a question of interest, but a question of manners and consideration. There are people in this world that are terribly shy or are not very confident in themselves (and yes that could open another can of worms). They are taking a risk by e-mailing someone whose profile interested them. It is kinder by far to send a polite thanks but no thanks or at least to tell someone that you are praying about this, than to respond with silence. Yes, it's disappointing when you receive a thank you, but I'm not interested. But it is far more hurtful and discouraging to send an e-mail/smily and see that the person you have sent it to has been on line and not even read it, much less responded.
We reap what we sow. We need to step outside ourselves and think how our unresponsiveness might be affecting that person. As Christians, we have a responsiblity to be be Christ with skin on. If we can't even show each other a little common courtesy, how will we ever show the world?
Be kind and take a couple of minutes to respond. At the very least, you will help someone feel less invisible, less unimportant, by letting them know that you appreciate the time they took to read your profile and contact you even if you are not interested.

I totally agree with all the points raised in your email. It should not matter if someone you pick does not respond we have the right to choose and refuse. A person might not respond for the following reasons:
They are simply not interested
They are busy or maybe praying about it.
Choosing a lifetime partner is a serious matter and should not be taken lightly. We should focus our attention on God and let Him choose for us because He always gets it right.
So keep praying and searching and in due course the man God have for you will find you.
All the very best.

I agree with Les, we are not being punished by God because we are divioced, widowed or just being single for most of our adult lives, I believe God has a bigger plan, a brighter furture for all of His Children no matter how far we stray from His plans for our lives. I have been single now for 7 years , my healing process is over and I am ready to meet someone hopefully on this site who I can share the same dreams and core beliefs with for the long term, maybe I am ready to launch into a new phase of my life and make the sad young years happier senior years. I can't wait to go to heaven and talk to God about His plans for me and how I finally came around to accept His will in my life totaly even if it means I remain single forever or with someone until He comes for me.We have to learn to let go and live again. I am sorry for you if you really believe in a punishing type of God. I believe that God forgives all and gives us a completely clean slate each time we repent and ask forgiveness.
Feeling like your options are gone at age 29 is a bit of an over reaction. If being married is something you want, you can achieve it if you ask for God's help and blessing. I hope you are able to let go of the past and move forward.
((hugs))
