I agree with you whole heartedly. I would so love to be able to do all of these things.
1. I live in HUD housing, NO CHILDREN ALLOWED.
2. I live with a disease called COPD, and am often unable to go out and do things. Right now I am suffering from respiratory infection. Yes, I know too that God is able to heal this too.
3. I have been widowed 2 times. It is still hard for me to not remember at this time of the year. My first husband's birthday was Nov. 25, and my last one died on Dec. 6th. It is just a hard time of the year for a lot of seniors who have lost their mates.
4. I recently rededicated my life to the Lord and was re-baptized. I will send you my Christmas letter for this year.
5. Volunteer, I do do that I am a writer for my church, and I make all the birthday cards, anniversay, get well, wedding, and sympathy cards and send out to all of these people. Yes, I do do it from my computer. I also am very involved with a handicapped group who try to help others in need, and see that they are able to have the right info to get help, and we also help where we can.
I am sorry, but there is only so many hours in my day and right now my illness has me down a lot. If you do not know what COPD is or means, there is a site called
COPD-International, for those who would love to read what many of us from that organization go thru. We also have chatrooms, for the patient, and also for caregivers.
I even if I am not able to get out as much as I would like to, I am involved in life. Also, I love my Lord with all my heart, He is first place in my heart every day I give my day, my plans, my fears and all my Praise unto Him. Asking that He will me daily, with His Holy Spirit to guide me in all that I think and do.
With being a prayer/warrior/intercessor for the Conference and for another group off the west coast and here and around amoung my neighbors who use my rocking chair beside my computer to tell me all their problems, and prayer concerns. Others that are of the copd group, and also fibro-myalgia group that keep me posted on prayer requests.
My mother's new testament that was in my brother's bookcase when he passed away in Aug. says, "If your troubles are long standing try kneeling." I believe this whole heartedly.
I am sorry, that I even posted that I was lonely. I did this on another site and you should have seen the replies that I got. It said, "I was not a Christian if I was lonely for other people, we are aloneness within ourselves.
Christ was lonely and took 3 of His disciples with him more than once, trying to teach them and to get them to pray. He was lonely for the Father, that is the most loneliness one could feel, here He had left the realms of Glory to come to fulfill a promise and all the universe was watching. Jesus loved the Father, and missed that close relationship that He had had in heaven. He left ALL to come here to save ME and YOU, but He missed that relationship and He was lonely because He was one of the most misunderstood persons, He came, and they received Him not, even His own family and His disciples didn't truly believe in who He was until the after He had been crucified and died and rose again. It was after He went back to the Father and the Holy Spirit feel on His disciples that they truly knew what He had tried to teach them.
Yes, He was lonely while here on earth, and thus He sought out to teach them truth, and they didn't realized until after He went back to Glory what and who they had had among them.
"Jesus told Peter, that satan wanted to sift him and that He had prayed the Father that when Peter was converted he would be a true representive of the truth."
Loneliness isn't all bad you know, it can help with so many things in life and teach us many things. It can teach us to reach out and find our nich where we can bloom for Him.
Maybe this isn't the right words. Yes, I do get lonely more at times than others. I am not able to travel to visit others, due to the green stuff and also all of the extras that have to be done before I can even try to go. Oxygen is hard to transport and plane travel we've found even with the oxygen isn't the best to do when you are on 02, for our 02 level drops at altitudes higher than so many feet, and they are finding that it can cause had lot of stress on our lungs when you have this disease.
Yes, I am involved with life. I hear from people around the world who have this disease, many asking me to pray for them as they suffer much more than I do, and many are on higher litre's of 02 than I am. I will pray for them. I write out my prayers so that they know that I truly am praying.
Thank you, for your advice to me, and to others that read this prayer requests. I pray for many of them too.

Loneliness!

I've read of others experiencing acute loneliness asking for prayer on this site, and seeing I have experienced this myself (and still do), I thought I'd contribute. I guess there are others on this site who have felt so lonely they could and do cry, and find it hard to cope -which is where loneliness can lead to depression.

Sadly with the all-to-common breakup of marriages, and even children being evicted from their homes, there are many lonely folk around feeling rejected by those who should or could love and accept them. Psychologists say rejection is one of the hardest things to deal with, and would be a common cause of suicide and even crime.

Actually, if we just remember some of the wonderful promises God gives us in the Bible, this should help us to manage loneliness. Satan wants us to feel lonely, sad, rejected, and to dwell on the negatives, become depressed, etc...

So, let's review some of these reassuring promises that God has given us-
Psalm 139 tells us that God knows us including YOU, dear reader, in far more detail than we can ever know ourselves (vv. 1-6), right from when we were conceived inside our mothers
(vv. 13-16)! He knows about everything we do, where we go (7-12). And God's thought about us are only for our good (vv.17,18; Jer.29:11-13). Remember that God only can see the whole picture, we just need to keep close to Him, and trust Him...

Jesus said in Matt. 10:29-31 that God even knows how many hairs we have on our heads, and values each of us so much, that Ellen White says that Jesus would have come here, to live, toil, and die as He did if there were ONLY ONE individual who needed salvation!!!!!!
(please email me for this reference, sorry can't find it now. However in "Thoughts From the Mount of Blessing", p.118-9, E G White says that "Christ will never abandon the soul for whom He has died ...Christ can never turn from one for whom He has paid the ransom of His own life").

So,claiming John 3:16, we could validly say, "For God so loved ME that He gave His one and only Son, so that if I believe on Him, I will not perish, but have eternal life" (based on NIV) So, God loves each one of us just so much, it could never be measured!
(Yes, it's OK and good to put yourself or your own name, to personalise a text, as here).

Then, Hebrews 13:5b,6 says that "God has said,"Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you".
So we can say with confidence "The Lord is my Helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?""

We should remember that this sin-cursed life is just a testing time for us to prepare ourselves, and others, for Jesus soon coming (Acts 17:26-27).

So and we just need to put Him first in our lives, and He will truly guide and bless us (Matt 6:33 -"Seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be yours as well"; Phil. 4:8 "My God shall supply all your need...).

Here's a suggestion -next time you feel real lonely, get your Bible out, and a concordance if you have one, or use the marginal references to the above texts, and find more of these wonderful promises.
So, if we fill our minds with how much God loves each one of us, and what He can do for us, if we'll only let Him, this really is the best cure and preventative for lonelines, and also depression!

Another good preventative/cure, is to get out and help those who need it! Join an appropriate organisation, if possible! Maybe, take in a homeless child or two, if you can!

So, I pray God will indeed bless and guide us as we claim these wonderful promises, and live for Him day by day, and prepare ourselves and others, for His son return.
